Since this thread has turned into a home thread for the moment I'd like an opinion.
We're residing the house due to hail damage, I'd like to install a Window and shutters in the second floor over the first floor window and also add shutters to the one by the Chimney. Problem is that 2nd floor front corner room is a bedroom and would now have three windows. The bedroom by the Chimney only has the one window. But I think it would really help the exterior look of this side of the house.
Opinions?
I would add a "false" window abv the one below... two ways to do it... 1) add a real window thats blackened out and has an interior wall behind it... or my choice (cheaper ,easier) 2) just add a couple of shutters and trim around, looking like there IS a window, but shutters are closed...
and add shutters to the chimney window... can that window move? if not how much space between it and the chimney? you dot want a shutter right up against it...what size shutters? (width) what is that room...can window be reduced in width? hampers egress requirements?......
