Steven,i put a screwdriver in behind the spring clip and worked it towards me(out)until i found where it would close the door/sit properly.Inserted the driver through the top,pulled out a little,then up from the bottom,pulled out a little.How permanent it will be,i'm not sure.All i know is that it worked well for me!
