My wiring for the starter is as follows......Power wire from battery to solenoid on the firewall. From solenoid to starter. 2 small wires from firewall (interior) to the solenoid.
All of a sudden, my key (when turned) is dead. I have full 12.00 volts to the solenoid from the battery but 0 volts coming out when key is turned. I tried by-passing the key and jumped the posts on the solenoid w/a screw driver, the motor turned over but very slowly, wouldn't start. I previously had a problem w/hot-starting, do you think that heat finally caused the starter to freeze up?
Secondly, as I said the key is dead when turned. Where do I follow the two small wires to in order to find the power failure? Sorry, but I am somewhat an amateur for old muscle cars. Thanks in advance!
