Putting the t-cover and water pump back together is turning into nightmare. I installed the t-cover, but unfortunately I did not install the water pump onto the t-cover before installing the t-cover to the block. Now I am left with the challenge of installing the water pump onto the t-cover while the t-cover is on the block. The issue is with the 2 plates that sit inside the t-cover. I can not get these plates to sit still, thus can not put on the water pump. Any suggestions other than removing the t-cover?
