I have a project bird,67 400 4sd, i am getting the suspension and floor pans done first. The rear frame is rusted out where the leaf spring mounts to it. I have ordered repair frames 36" long for the rear and plan to cut and weld them to the old frame. I have the gas tank out and am going to replace the trunk floor so i am going to cut all the metal away over top the rear frame. Then i plan to remove the leaf spring, cut the frame off maybe a foot or so to get to good metal then weld on the new frame to fit. Then i plan to weld on a few pieces of steel across the welded area for extra support. Then reattach the leaf with new hardware and then replace the trunk floor. Any hints or thoughts??
