my 68 was a 4 spd once-upon-a-time but when i got it, it was a basket case. now it is auto. i aquired an original auto-shifter and i want to mount straight on the hump and lose the console. but, the shifter was made for a console. so, it sets up about 4 to 5 inches above floor. does anyone make a surround for the bottom of it? or should i just go buy a b&m or hurst shifter and do it the easy way ? or other options ? the car will never be close to original, as i only bought a body blank and built from there.
