How comfortable are the original seats with new repop foam? I've never had the pleasure of sitting on a seat that wasn't blown out, and would like to correct this in the next few months. My choice will be to order new foams, have an upholstery shop cut custom foam, or look at replacement seats. Not sure I want to put high back later model seats in (just from the looks of others I have seen).
Second question, can you add the repop headrests to a '68 frame?
I used the foam kit from classic with the PUI covers and also added additional cotton batting in the seat cushion area...very comfy, but the lack of sufficient side bolstering is still present. You may also have some broken springs in the seat bottom. I think you can add the headrests with minimal modification, read somewhere somebody did it. Makes a big difference on the longer trips.
