Thanks for all the info we have gained from this sight. We purchased a Firebird, but there is a problem with the VIN. We have been looking for a project for my son and ran across an ad for a 1968. Complete but the front end and subframe are off. Subframe has been powder coated. Pretty solid car all around, will need quarters and some floor work. So we worked a good deal on the car and headed home. My son says I really like the vent windows............ Thats when it hit me, the body has to be a 67. I have looked in all the areas. The VIN plate on the dash matches the title and the build tag on the firewall matches the Vin tag all 1968. But there are holes in the hinge post where the 67 vin should be and the stamped vin on the cowl indicates 1967. It appears this was done a long time ago. I had the 67 VIN off the cowl checked to be sure it did not show up as stolen. It is clear. What do we do? Drive it as a 68? Can we get a bond title to match the 1967 VIN without the actual VIN tag from the hinge post? Looking for opinions. Thanks, I am happy with the car but want to make things as right as I can.
