Tom, Id like to take credit for the crushing, but, it was that way when I got it from another '69.
Before deciding on a replacement hood, Id look at taking down all of the hood to metal to see what else is there. I know on that hood there are two holes near the front where there used to be those 70s hood locks. But I dont know if theres more under the primer, under the verdoro green.
My repair thoughts mimic Bjorns in that I would have welded a small extension part and then fabricated the final tips. Or.. find a donor 350 style hood (fairly cheap) and cut and weld those tips to the 400 hood... or.. as you said, simply get a different 400 hood (used or new).
