Not very nice out today so decided to tackle the dash swap out. Here's the removal sequence: 1.Remove passenger vent ball assembly 2.Remove glove door & box (takes a little finess to get the box out) 3.Drop steering column 4.Remove speedo cluster 5.Remove driver side vent ball assembly 6.Remove pillar post weather stripping 7.Remove weatherstrip channel 8.Remove sun visors (you need to in order to get the pillars out) 9.Remove pillar posts 10.Remove 4 speed nuts under the dash 11.Remove the screws along the front of the dash 12.Remove the dog leg clips located on the long drop arms of dash. Whew!... now pull up and out to remove the dash itself.
Here's some pics: especially for Craig
Thought I'd lay the OER and the OEM side by side for a few comparisons.
I shoulda listened to Bjorn & Vikki 2 years ago and just had the dash restored by just dashes. But nooooo, I had to get the cheaper version to save a few bucks. Ended up costing me more by $250. If anyone wants an OER dash, it's your's... free... just come by and pick it up.
