I have always had good luck with my cheep (less tha $20.00) pitman arm puller, I always let them soak overnight with some PB blaster, then you just have to work on it slowly, Don't over tension the puller, when you feel it is tight, tap (and I mean tap!!!! not a full swing with a sledge hammer) the bolt end portion of the puller with a hammer, you should then be able to tighten the puller alittle more, and repeat as nessisary. And it is always a good idea to wear goggles and steel toes.
