I got home from work early today and had the back seat out in 3 minuets - it took me longer to uncover the car. Thanks for all the help. I would have screwed with it for hours without the help.
The car I have is very solid - a real desert car - no rust anywhere. I found a linoleum like material under the seat bonded to the metal with the springs melted into it. The seat springs were covered with burlap and then padding and new vinyl. The old seat belt bolts and brackets (less belts) were intact and the bolts backed right out, a bit grimy, but smooth. I installed the new belts and was done in about a 1/2 hour.
