Ok, just to be clear, I'm not posting looking for one, I need to know WHAT to buy. I have a 1967 Firebird 326HO. Originally supplied with Power Steering. During my Resto-mod, the Power Steering Pump was either misplaced, or tossed, so I need to get a new one. I do not have the pump/tank or pulley. I have replaced the steering box with an after=market, Flaming River, quick ratio box. The box has the 18mm and 16mm O-ring fittings which I assume are typical, later model fittings. I see that Power Steering Pumps range from the original, SAE type fitting to a newer 16mm O-ring style connector for the pressure side. After a lot of reading, it seems that many prefer a later style (not type II) box, I think post-1973.
My question. Which pumps can I put on that will bolt up to my existing brackets? Cash wise is limiting me to staying with the combo pump/tank style. Fittings won't matter as I'm going to piece together the hoses anyways. Of course, I will also need a pulley. My engine is using the 1967 style timing cover and other brackets, not the later style.
Figured I might as well ask the pros at this point.
