another kickdown switch question

I have a 68 firebird with a th400. The 400 motor has an edelbrock Carb on it. I do not see a kickdown switch next to the Carb. Is the switch located somewhere else? Does the switch work with an aftermatket carburetor? Any info or link would be great thanks.
