I have a group for Jeeps that is exactly like what you are talking about HALF being. No dues, no rules, no officers. It was extremely active until the economy went downhill over the last 5 or so years. The rock crawling sport can be pretty expensive, so lots of folks have gotten out. I also am part of a similar group in Dallas for those with interests in wine. It is still active. It would be nice to have somewhere for us Firebird folks to get together.
BTW, I've been kind of absent here lately. I have been struggling to get the steering box out of the car and it's been a little frustrating. I have no idea how they got the engine in the car the way the headers fit. Unfortunately, I'm in a catch 22 where I can't get the driver's side header out due to the steering box being in the way. I did finally get the steering box completely unhooked and loose in the header, now if I can get the remaining header bolts out I think I can lift the whole unit out as one. What a pain. There is just really no room around that steering box when headers are installed! I have seen some that fit better than my Hookers at the local car shows, for example the Doug Thorley headers seem to be a much better fit.
I did finish the dual exhaust. I can't begin to describe how much lower the interior noise is compared to having it dump in front of the rear axle.
Anyway, the downside is I don't have a 'bird to cruise in until I get this box out and the new one in.
