I have stock Pontiac Rally II's on my 67 with BFG 225/15/50's all the way around with out rubbing front or rear and no rubbing in front while turning. Stock backspacing is fine with stock 15" rally II's.
I have front disc and a Posi Disc rear from a T/A which is slightly wider and still have no rubbing issues.
You can go 17" or 18" and up to 9" wide with about 6" of back spacing in the rear and upto 8" wide in the front with about 5" - 5.5" of back spacing in the front (judging from what others have used) but there will be some front end turn rub...
And of course this all depends on each cars set up. (40 yr old stock suspension? New aftermarket lowered suspension? Disc brakes? Drum?, Wheel & tire combo etc...
There is a lot of information out there these days on this very subject. But with just the info I've seen here, a set of stock Rally II's on a 67 Bird should be no problem.
