I also thought my lights were too dim. I removed the housings from the trunk and cleaned off any paint where the housings connected to the car. I also cleaned the contact areas where the bulg sockets attached to the housings. It seems that the cause of my problem was not having the circuit grounded properly. Theyn are perfect now. had smae problem with my dash lights and horn cicuit. Ground it!
