You may have to push pretty had on the pin in the hole with stiff paper clip. but just trun ignition to "off" insert paper clip into hole press hard and rotate ingition past off. it will slide right out. as for punching or breaking anything to remove the rest of the assemby, i didnt have to break anything, period.
Now if you dont have the key , drill out ignition lock assembly carfull and make sure not to ruin the housing. i used to replace these alot back in the day.
