The problem I have with "Rick's .." is it's described as a '69 sending unit. 68 (6427857) Firebird sending units have a different part no. than a 69 (6428667).
The tanks and gauges are different for 68 and 69 so I would expect the sending units to be different.
But...the picture they have at "Ricks..." looks fairly close so maybe there are describing it wrong.
Anyone have a stock 69 pics of a fuel sending unit?
