Went up for the day last Sat. Got up early and made the 200 mi run because all the reports said it was HOT up there(104*). Anyway made the trip fine and parked the car in the shade. After a couple of hours came back and she wouldn't start. Would roll over but not fire. Getting tons of gas. Thought it might be a stuck float so I pulled the carb an pulled the top off. All looked good. Started pulling plugs. Even after cranking they were dry(timing chain broke?). Pulled a VC, nope all valves opening. Checked spark-very little. HEI w/50K volt in-cap coil. That thing ought to crack when it fires. Stopped right there and went to Summit. Bought cap/coil/rotor kit and a new set of wires. Got everything installed as it was getting dark. Installed the last couple of wires by feel. Fired right up. My buddy had his coil crap out the very next day. Different issue-same result. Pretty much the only pics I have of the trip are the ones my wife took of me working on the car in the parking garage. Got up and drove home the next day. Oh well, there's always next year.
