Has anyone replaced their steel intake manifold with an Edelbrock Performer (p/n 2156) aluminum intake?

I am putting a Quadrajet carb with a traditional, non-electric choke on it, but am having a difficult time figuring out what heat tube goes in it. The bent tube loop that was on the steel manifold doesn't slip into the aluminum one. Edelbrock's tech said that you just had to rig something up.

Anyone have any experience with this?
