When you turn the key does anything happen? Sounds like a starter switch or the wires to-from the switch, if you turned it and nothing happened then started with the remote switch. Maybe disconnect the wire at the solenoid and put a test light on and to ground and turn the key to see if it's getting juice from the starter switch.
