Definitely a scam! Many web forums are littered with these stories about someone in Europe, or some Third World country, who has a GTO or some other desirable classic in the America, and some sob story about a deceased father, uncle, brother, etc. They always claim they know nothing about cars, they just want to sell it. And it's always at a phenomenal price.
They never go through E-Bay, they target CraigsList or some other outlet. They steal some pics off the web, usually use the "real" sellers description, but they don't own the car.
They always ask you to send money, or a down payment, and make up some story about why they can't show you the car (like they're in Europe, etc). They convince you that you can look at the car, drive the car, and even keep it for a few days, all before your money is "released" to them. And if for any reason you don't like the car, you keep your money. But Western Union, Google, etc. don't work that way.
The guy takes your money, there was no car for sale, and because they live in some Third World country, there's no way to track them, no way to sue them.
This scam has been going on since the web started. Please be careful!
