It sounds as if the fan was out of balance, could be the WP, could be the clutch, but I am sure something was out of balance or the radiator is off center too much, Make sure the engine is center of the shroud? I believe there were 2 WP's for that year, one standard cooling and one heavy duty cooling. Was there a vibration?
