Mine is kit number 1181 from pertronix ignitor series for GM vehicles. But, yes everything is the same . you may need a new coil IF your coil has an internal resistor. If not, then the resistor is in the hot wire going to the coil. The conversion needs the full +12 volts not 6volts. so you will have to bypass the resistor in the wire or just replace it with a new plain wire.
As for the coil I just added a flame thrower, oem style coil.


The nice thing is it looks stock! I never liked the look of that bulky hi-voltage electronic distributor. it just looks out of place in a classic.
