It's supposed to be a factory Pontiac 326 engine and TH400 tranny....
I checked that body tag infor. That code showed "188 05D" that bellow of "General Motors Corporation", I dunno what's that number "188" stands for.. It had original Color Code is C - Cameo Ivory, Vinyl Top Color Code is 2 - Black and now is correct Trim Std. Vinyl Black Int. and correct code is Z - Bucket Seats without headrests or Z- TH400 A/T tranny but I dunno if that owner swap it...
That confusing me in which is one code "Z", that car showed " TR 253-Z" 67 Body Tag error? Just curious.
I can't finding 1st and 4th codes "W 2W" and "4Q" in this site but I remember that "4Q" stands for Outer Door Remote Mirror on the Driver's Side.
BTW, I'm surprised that "05D" built 5th week of December! I've not heard or seen that month before. I'm only one month old than that car. I was born on November 25th, 1967, close as my age! My '67 Firebird 400 was built on 3rd week of April, 1967. She's only 7 months old than me, it's doesn't matter what month was built before and after I was born. My 2nd - (had 1st 326/4spd MT one since 1987-1990) 1967 Firebird 400 is all the same body trim, options, int., engine, tranny, etc.

This is my old pic of '67 1/2 Firebird (7/27/67) w/ '74 Pontiac 400/400 on Jan 1st, '90. She had original Tyrol Blue Ext. with Std. Dark Blue Int., 326 2bbl, 4spd, 2 traction bars, 1 of 6,078 built in '67. I'm the current owner of '67 Firebird 400 coupe with original code F-400 Option, 1 of 22,636 built in '67 with rare T400. My brother & I picked her up and brought her to my new home. It's original eng. & trans. are long gone. Has factory K-Gulf Turquoise under primer, had Ivory vinyl top. Has factory RH traction bar w/ 3.08 gear, J-custom option with original Deluxe Parchment Int., has rare fold down rear seat. I'll look for a good running '67 400/400 when it's done.
