Thanks Firebob!! so basically a 350HP 400 of first gen Era with a 4 speed being conservative at going plus 15% would be a 400 HP motor of todays rating.
Funny in talking to most of the rebuilders if I say I want a 350 to 400HP motor, all but one have told me to the flywheel when I tell them rear wheel HP the number jumps significantly.
Other than the fact that the 400 engine had high compression which sucks for todays gasoline an almost stock rebuild using a Pontiac cam spec would easily give me 400HP by todays standard I would think
86 Pontiac 2+2 69 Firebird Coupe(Under Construction) 69 Firebird 4 speed Vert Driveable but Under Construction 64 1/2 Mustang (Under Construction) 86 Z28 Convertible Weekend driver
