Could be a voltage drop issue or maybe you only had a quarter of a tank and it just took a few minutes tiil it registered the correct fuel level. Could be as simple as the float on the sender getting momentarily hung up especially if it sits for long periods of time. I wouldn't worry about it until it stops working.
