Recently replaced my voltage regulator, jumper the number 2 and number 4 wire going to the regulator and checked the voltage at the battery, was pushing 17 volts, so I knew the alternator was good.
One thing to look out for; my old regulator had a ground wire, so reused it with the new regulator, was grounding out, worked fine after removing the ground wire.
