How I would look at it?

Is the car numbers matching or otherwise worthy of the price of the windshield plus shipping?

If the replacement glass locally will cost you X amount...and having date coded glass shipped to you costs a little more, and the car is worthy of purchasing said glass, go for it.

Have you checked the other glass to see if they are all correct to the car? If so, buy the date coded glass.

In essence, if you can justify the expense based on the cars current or future condition, buy the date coded glass.
