It really depends on what you want out of your restoration. There are no specific Firebird resto books out there that I'm aware off, and the Camaro and a couple of others I looked at are IMO very vague and not very precise in the work described.
The best and NUMBER ONE advise I can give you is: Do not finish-paint all your body panels individually off the car and then assemble and align. Paint the backsides and even a coat of primer on front, but finish everything in one shot after you're happy with all your gaps and alignments. If it's not painted you can pry, hammer, shim, drop a wrench, rub you belt buggle, set a beer bottle on it etc. and it won't hurt a [censored] thing .
Everything else was a combination of service manual, this site, and other sites when finishing mine. Hope this helps.
