My first car love was a 1967 Firebird with a 326, it was Mayfair Maize. The owner never sold it to me, after matching his offer on several occasions. Never heard what happened to it. My Buick is Bamboo Cream which crosslists to Sierra Yellow(Pontiac) and Gobi Beige(Chevy). I consider it the Mayfair Maize of '70 GM colors, not bad looking and will look great with black interior and convertible top and the GS trim which is red and has nice highlights. But you'll be hard pressed to find someone who'll pay the market price for a car with that color. This was hammered home in my mind with a '70 LS6 Chevelle at the Mecum auction in Dallas. It was Gobi Beige with the appropriate white stripes down the center. It struggled to get to 100k. Similar red with black LS6s get there in a couple bids.
Many people don't like verdoro green, I consider it the quintessential '68 Pontiac color. How could 18% of all buyers that year be wrong?(#1 color that year) Of course, avocado green was probably the #1 color among refrigerators that year and those have obviously stood the test of time!
