I certainly would not sell the engine because fuel pumps are hard to find. If your search criteria was all the local chains, Rock Auto, etc., we could have saved you a lot of grief and told you "Don't bother." Quite frankly, I think the fuel pumps are pretty easy to find as they come up all the time on EBay and the forum Marc mentioned. Like Marc, I also carry a spare.
I think PY lists some OHC pumps for sale but I think they are 1bbl pumps. I have heard that they will work on Sprints even though they are numbered for 1bbl cars. 40446 is the number IIRC. Worth a try for a good one to see if it works and recently I have seen them go for $20.
