You can do them in the car. I have done two sets in the car with no problems. Pull on the chrome trim from the bottom. They will come off but you need to rock them from top to bottom. More than likely the rubber strip that will be on the window will be in rough shape. Buy new ones from NPD or who ever you like. Buy some 3M adhesive for weather stripping at the same time. Clean the edge of the window and install the adhesive in the inside of the U shaped gasket. Push onto the window and let dry for a few hours. Make note of how long the old ones were. The new ones are longer than they need to be. I use Dawn dish soap or silicone spray to lubricate the inside edges of the chrome trim. Tap on with a plastic hammer from top to bottom.
