I just got into these firebirds last year, and I'm on my way to learning a ton more - but here are some things that struck me as odd on the pictures from ebay:

Carb looks small - a 2bbl?
Valve cover has filler cap on passenger side of engine (instead of driver's side).
Driver's mirror is round shaped, not square (early '68?).

Looks like a vinyl top? Be prepared to find rust under the top if you get that far into the restoration.

The car certainly shows potential - good luck with the restoration!

Edit: it seems that some of the body panels may have been replaced in the past (?), so I wouldn't be surprised if the old hood was tossed in favor of another one - taken from a 350 car.
