Good question. Mine is unlike others I've seen and may not be a good reference. The AC may be the reason.

First, I have no clamp to dress the heater hose through. I bought one once thinking mine was missing but could not use it. At the point of the hole for the clamp there is not enough room between wheel well and the AC to put the hearer hose let alone a big clamp and the hose.

Second, I do have a small strap at the back of the wheel well that the negative cable gets dressed through where it turns toward the head. I suppose I replaced that strap years several ago when I put on new cables but don't recall. I looked at some pictures I took of some very nice 1st gens and don't see that strap.
