It's possible that your timing chain cover was replaced which required a new water pump, or vice-versa. Finding 8-bolt timing covers is harder than finding 11-bolt.

The timing covers are interchangeable. You should be able to find one.

I prefer the 11-bolt water pumps because they seal better (IMHO) and because you can get aluminum high-flow in 11-bolt, but not always in 8.
