I was browsing e-bay for '69 Firebird collectables when I came across a Danbury Mint 40th anniversary '69 Firebird die-cast. I never knew they existed. I guess they all were Carousel Red coupes.
The price was more than the original $129.00 asking price but since I had never seen one I jumped on it.
Only problem......my '69 is a convertible!
I'm not sure if cutting the top off of a Danbury Mint model hurts the value (it probably does) but hey it's mine to do what I want, right.
It did take some sole searching to stat cutting but cut I did and here are the results

I also had to paint the interior black to match my car (no way to change from standard to deluxe though).
I'm happy with the results and not worried about the value, I have no plans to ever get rid of it.
