Hi, I'm not sure about the 68 Bird, but on the 67 I found on "Firebirdgallery.com" that they actually tell you what color stripe came on what color car. My HO was ordered with out the stripe and on the PHS document it says so. I have since put the stripe on, because no one knew it was an HO. I was against putting it on at first because it wasn't ordered with it, but I love it now. Sandi
I did the same. Mine was ordered as a stripe delete, but I like the stripe and, other than dual exhaust, is the only identifier for a 350 H.O. (68) visually.
My car is autumn bronze and I think the white stripe would have looked best, but I read somewhere that the factory H.O. stripe matched the interior if it was black (as mine is) or white, so I went with black.
Whether that is true or not, it looks great, and is easy enough to return to "original" if you change your mind.
