2017 just plain sucked for my wife and I, but luckily nothing related to our health. Ended up involved in a full federal investigation for decisions made before I was even the boss, so I was reassigned during the 2nd quarter of the year to a menial (but actually no stress) job. (Guess what, I worked at a VA hospital), I was pretty sure the hammer was going to fall on me anyway, so I retired about 1 year before I planned. The quick sale on our house in OK almost fell through at the last minute. House hunting in Phoenix was a seller's market nightmare. My mom had a significant stroke in the late summer and passed away in November. I was involved in an EEO investigation in December due to charges from an ex-employee. And finally, the Gov has taken 7 months to get me my full retirement pay, jeopardizing my new home loan...
We are so going to toast good riddance to the year today.
Early 2018 will see us finally in our new house, for one thing.
I really hope your 2018 is equally better.
