I have several sets of 69 tail light gaskets, but all have seen some weather. So I ordered new OER gaskets from Classic Industries. They seem to be molded from rubber, but the originals look like some kind of foam rubber. Even after 50 years they’re still more “spongy” than the repros. They don’t have the same rounded surface where they contact the tail panel. Because they’re so rigid I don’t think they will allow the stainless trim or lense to fit all the way into the tail panel. Anyone have a similar experience with this? Suggestions?
