Hopefully someone with original parts on an early '67 will chime in. Maybe early builds were metal. The parts book lists the part then curiously mentions (plastic). (Called "Escutcheon, Radiator Grill - plastic) Was that a hint that the replacement parts were plastic to people needing to replace their metal originals?
