I replaced my starter. The wires were old and brittle, so I pulled new wires through the tube attached to the rear of the block by taping them to the old wires, and pulling through. Easy. So...I unwrap the wire “loom†to attach the new wires. The heavy purple wire is right there in plain sight. I splice it in. No problem. I go to connect the other wire( mine is blue, likely not original). I follow it into the “loom†and it is disconnected. It came loose when I unwrapped the wire “loomâ€. I can’t figure out where it was connected!
The service manual reads that this should be a yellow wire connected to the + terminal on the coil. I run an MSD AL box. The only connections to the coil are from the box.
So...do I connect this wire to the red wire that was originally connected to the coil? There’s no yellow wire there.
I guess you can tell that electric wiring is not my strong area..
Please help.
I think my engine test box has the wiring illustration you need. Self explanatory. Let me know if you have any questions.
