The R-59 repro battery fits the tray perfectly. Anything bigger would not fit. I did replace my original factory tray with a repro but I think they were the same. I have two repro R-59s but I only measured the one in the car.

My repro R-59 L x W x H is 10 3/16 x 6 3/4 x 7 3/4 with the post an additional 3/4.

The repro specs at batterycentral mall.com for the R-59 are 10 1/4 x 6 3/4 x 9 (including the post). (I can't explain the 1/2' height difference. The 1/16 length difference could be me measuring the top where they measured the base?)
