Hi All, Prob a simple answer, but... 10 bolt, 1968, 3.36:1, LSD rear end. Just to paint you a picture: I pulled it out and cleaned it up, 2K painted the housing and axle cylinders, and powder coated the brake back plates and cover. Now time to rebuild. Just checking: Seems to be about 2 quarts of 75W90 gear oil and 4 oz of LSD additive... I imagine the housing needs to be level (its in a cradle right now). Should I stir the additive into the oil before I fill the pumpkin? Does anyone do that? The cover will be on so what's the best way to fill it? Any other recipes you like better?
Am I making this more complicated than it needs to be?
I have my dad's old plunger filler tool with flexible steel pipe to inject into bottle or can of oil, suck it in and the put pipe into hole on the side of diff and push oil into diff. Make sure diff is level. If you have too much it will just flow out. Put the additive in first.
