I’ll do more research but I think you are correct that the original top was darker Blue and the original owner chose a different color when it was replaced in 1973. The factory top Probably matching the blue interior offered.

1967 Firebird 400 Convertible Montreux Blue/Light Blue top/Black interior. Maybe one of one color combination, if not, one of very few.
