Many years ago I purchased my 67 without an engine or transmission. Just to get it running i had installed a 350 with a PG. Over the last few years I've been doing a ground up restomod and I'm installing a 455 with a TH-400. I thought I had the parts I needed but I found out the dipstick tube I have isn't even close to fitting. I tried goggling the casting number on the trans and all I found was a numbers matching Grand Prix for sale that advertised the casting number (8623801).
For anyone that has done a 455 / th-400 swap, what dipstick tube did you use? Frank's Pontiac Webpage has a few transmissions tubes but they are all bent differently. How can I determine which one I need. I don't want to go the route of a flexible trans tube. I want one that looks stock.
Also a few other questions
1. Need shifter conversion from PG to th-400 3 speed 2. Am I still using the original rod set up from the PG or do i have to switch to a cable? 3. What is the kickdown?
