Unfortunately not easy. If you are using stock shifter the 67&68 a/t shifters are different and the top shifter bezel plate mounts are different, and also mount differently. The 68 burlwood is actually a set of tin plates with studs that pretty much mount through drilled holes and sit on top of a 67 style console. The 68 shifter bezel plate mounts on top of this while the original 67 style was a 2 piece designed bezel that mounted to the console underneath the 68 tin plates. If using aftermarket shifters and boots I am sure you could figure something out. I mostly like my stuff original but I get what your saying about the simulated wood grains and have seen a few 7's with the top of the console painted the interior color that looked real sharp.
