Back in 2001 I bought a limelight green 1969 Firebird from US Autos of Yesterday in Tacoma Washington. I slapped a fax copy of the plate in the rear window and drove her back to Vermont. What a road trip. Took it through YELLOWSTONE, slept in the backseat on quiet mountain backroads and had a generally awesome time. Did some good work to her and then ten years later I lost my job and decided to sell the car. I told the fellow that if he ever wanted to sell her, I’d like a crack at it. Ten years later….He messaged me just before covid hit and I sent him a deposit. Then the border shut down. The car was in Canada. A year and a half later they opened up the border and I was able to bring her home. The car is in my cellar! I’m tinkering a little because it had been setting, but I’ll get it running nice again. Many thanks to Frank who let me have her back. I don’t think I’ll let her get away again.
