The repos are junk. If your original one is in good shape yes you can dye it another color and will be better than any repo one. Just use a good quality vinyl dye and follow the directions as far as cleaning it and preping it for the dye.
I had my original dash redone by Justdashes and dyed it the color of my interior. I used the vinyl dye in the spray can from Classic Ind.
